L&L Branding | Introducing Dainty Knotts Art

I’m constantly in awe of the insanely talented artists we have in Des Moines. Every single one of them brings a unique and necessary perspective to our amazing city, and Paige from Dainty Knotts Art is one of my favorites. Watercolors, landscapes, portraits, and abstract ink are just a few of her talents; I was thrilled to connect with her both through family portraits and most recently through a Branding Session.

Des Moines, Iowa Branding Photography

If she sounds familiar, I shared a while ago about how beautifully she illustrated my vision of Lavender. A little back story —> My studio name, Lav & Lime, was born from two characters; a 6 year old little girl named Lavender and her imaginary frog friend, Lime. In my head, Lavender was a curious, science-loving, rule-following, girly girl with a desire to make the world a better place, and Lime was her mischievous friend that took her outside of her box and into adventure. I had been planning to hire Paige to illustrate these characters for me when she reached out for family pictures - it was fate. My experience with her was magical. Her vision of Lavender and Lime was more than a drawing, she took the time to connect and create exactly what I didn't know I wanted.

How would I describe her work? A mix of boldness, whimsy, strong lines, and intention resulting in gorgeous, one-of-a-kind art pieces. She has a beautiful niche and it was such an honor to spend the afternoon with a fellow artist.

You can find Dainty Knotts Art on Instagram and Facebook, and stay tuned for a website soon! How perfect would these gorgeous pieces be on your walls to add color, personality, and messages of empowerment ❤️?

Y'all, Paige is the absolute BEST. The loveliest of human beings and I honestly could have kept her in the studio all day with me. Dainty Knotts Art, you’re so talented and a kindred spirit!

The Art of Newborn Portraits - Mackenzie

Tiny fingers, tiny toes, back rolls, smushed cheeks - newborn portraits were my first love in the portrait world. I wanted to focus on capturing the nuances with beautiful storytelling and details specific to my clients alongside creating gorgeous fine art portraits to forever remind them of their first few beautiful weeks.

I met Morgan and Erin after they won an L&L Newborn Session through Des Moines Mom. From our first conversation together, I knew that Mackenzie’s session would be filled with so much emotion and creativity. They booked a custom floral add-on that turned out incredible and perfectly fit their family story ❤️. View more examples of floral sessions at the end of this post!

When I design a newborn session, I start with a color palette of 4-5 colors that are reflected in every set that we photograph. This was Mackenzie’s personal color scheme!

Enjoy the images from the rest of their session, and contact me at anj@lavandlime.com to book your L&L Newborn Session! The best time to book your newborn session is as soon as possible - it’s never too early to begin designing and getting your dream session on the calendar ❤️.

Interested in an L&L Floral Add-On? Floral Add-Ons are $300 in addition to your L&L Newborn Session fee and are 100% worth it for a custom fine art piece!

Lav & Lime | Safety First!

Quarantine life has been full of living in my purple velour robe, eating homemade chocolate chip cookies for breakfast, measuring time by how long it was since we last ate, and binge watching Community on Netflix from the boys’ bedtime until we realize we should have gone to bed hours ago. Unlike some other households, our 18 month old, 4 year old, and 6 year old have been homeschooling us and in charge most days. I’ve learned more than I have in any other season of life.

Des Moines Childrens Photography.jpg

I’ve learned that my middle child has a similar sense of humor to Pierce (from Community) and that waking up at 4:45 am to work is actually very productive with an awesome accountability partner. I’ve learned the art of compartmentalizing and the beauty of relationships. I’ve learned that my children now talk about “before Coronavirus” and “after Coronavirus” as a descriptor in their experiences and that my husband is a rockstar quarantine partner. I’ve learned that the ordinary isn’t actually very mundane and we have an excess of “things.” I’ve learned to let go, to hold on, to be more intentionally present and that time for myself is a necessity. I’ve learned that an imagination surpasses all of the most expensive toys and that our boys are blessed with an overflow of creativity when pushed beyond boredom. This goes for the adults of our household, too.

Now we’re moving to the next phase of our lives by reopening the studio on June 1st and I cannot WAIT to see your beautiful faces in the studio again. I’ve so missed your company, the beautiful moments I’ve been waiting to capture and doing what I love most. With that in mind, here are some safety precautions that will be in place moving forward.

Des Moines Family Photography.jpg

Every client will still be receiving one on one session planning and designing expertise, as well as a custom session and finished portrait experience. Providing the gift of storytelling to you once again fills me with joy! June is entirely booked and July has two sessions openings - book your session as soon as possible to guarantee availability. A Love Note to Maternity Portraits

When I was pregnant with each of my sons (I have 3), maternity portraits were a challenge for me to connect with. Even though I understood and reveled in the beauty of pregnancy, the miracle nature of birth, and the fact that my body would never again be the same, it seemed like simply a documentation versus a story. And if you know anything about me, I love a good story.

Before I continue this blog post, my heart goes out to each and every woman that reads this and is struggling to get pregnant, isn’t able to get pregnant, or has lost a baby. This post is my experience with pregnancy and is in no way meant to take away or diminish your journey.

Pregnancy wasn’t the glowing, amazing, eat whatever you want, enjoy every moment experience for me - it was filled with fatigue, aches, severe pelvic pain, emotional highs and lows and the worst heartburn. Alongside that was also excitement, joy, gratitude, and a myriad of other emotions, but the maternity portraits I was finding didn’t fit my pregnancy experience or what I wanted to remember/capture.

This was my attempt at maternity portraits with my first son - and I can still remember everything about that season of life. I remember that we had just moved into a new house 1 month before Malachi was born, that the coffee table sitting in front …

This was my attempt at maternity portraits with my first son - and I can still remember everything about that season of life. I remember that we had just moved into a new house 1 month before Malachi was born, that the coffee table sitting in front of us was a steal from Anthropologie, that I craved peanut butter and raisins ALL THE TIME, and that the gray dress I was wearing was one of the only dresses that fit me at that point. I love this image with all my heart.

The layers of emotions that were deeper than simple joy, a narrative of the season of life you were in, the storyline that played alongside your pregnancy - those are the things that I wanted to provide as a maternity photographer. The woman I was when I was pregnant with my first son was vastly different than the woman I was with my third. If I was going to offer maternity sessions in my studio, I had to be able to offer something deeper than beautiful portraits.

And that’s where my love for maternity portraits began. It wasn’t until after I had my third son that I truly realized the importance of maternity portraits in the newborn narrative and most importantly, in giving a voice to the amazing women carrying and sustaining new life. For me, it’s become more than documentation of the physical nature of pregnancy; it’s about taking it one step further and reflecting on the ponderosity of your emotions and who you truly are in this interlude.

My husband took this a month before Caspian arrived - I told him I wanted to be in our backyard with the boys running in circles around me, because that’s what this third pregnancy was for me. It was a hard pregnancy. A majority of my time was spent…

My husband took this a month before Caspian arrived - I told him I wanted to be in our backyard with the boys running in circles around me, because that’s what this third pregnancy was for me. It was a hard pregnancy. A majority of my time was spent sitting and watching Malachi and Ephraim go crazy, wishing I could join in and at the same time soaking up the stillness. Caspian’s birth was traumatic, to say the least, and it made me even more in awe of the strength of women and the birth process.

Maternity portraits at L&L are a fine art testament to the warrior nature of women, a chapter in the book of life for your future child/children, and a visual composition of your emotional pregnancy journey through the use of light, fabrics, and intimate storytelling.

Below are two of my favorite maternity sessions to date. This first gallery is Abbie and Chris and their darling daughter. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing their family for a few years now, and telling their family’s story was such a gift. If you need an amazing chiropractor in Des Moines, visit Chris and Abbie at Capital Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Center in the East Village - and Abbie is a gifted musician —> www.abbiesawyermusic.com .

This second gallery is my dear friend, Jodi, and her family. Jodi is a marketing genius, an inspiring boss mama, and an endearing, empathetic soul that I’m so incredibly thankful to have in my circle. Taking her maternity portraits when she was pregnant with her second son, Oliver, was a dream come true. With her session, we wanted to focus on the strength and warrior nature of pregnancy, and the gratitude for the sweet baby boy that was completing their family.

Happy Wednesday, friends, I hope you have the loveliest day. Thank you for spending a little time with me today!

Your Family Chronicle

The kids came home from school on March 14th and never went back - that’s when our lives forever changed and we began navigating new waters. Since that day, I’ve been documenting our family story through words and images with authenticity, emotion, and a raw transparency to both help myself process and make sure our story travels through the generations. As much as I’m tired of hearing the word “unprecedented,” the presence of coronavirus in the world has fashioned a new reality for our future, and we’re living through a time that will be remembered. But our individual stories may be forgotten.

My perspective on family, parenthood, and our values and ideals is constantly being tested and the combination of portraits and words has been a window into that journey. Even reading a journal entry from a few weeks ago is different than my reality now - I want my children to also have a glimpse into our lives at this time and access memories that may soon be replaced at their young age. The next question was, how can I offer this experience to my clients? Continue reading to find out more about the Family Chronicle limited edition sessions that will be happening in the month of June!

| March 16, 2020 | Mal’s a planner. We talked about school being out for 4 weeks and how we’d be homeschooling and he decided to schedule our days. “We’ll have to include specials, and a few recesses, and learning in between, Mama. There’s reading aloud and sharing time, and you’ll still have to work so maybe you can do that during quiet time?” Totally, little man. In another facet of quarantining, I immediately had a mini panic attack thinking about spending my days with my three littles. It made me sink into my insecurities as a Mama - could I be patient, kind, creative, energized, and organized enough to entertain and educate them during this time? Am I capable? Let alone my business and the worries that exist in that realm. But then, a switch. Maybe this is an opportunity for me to learn from my children. To see them in a more consistent light and to be more intentional with our time. My business will be on hold. For this small time period I’m able to not straddle the line of professional and personal and simply pour into our family. This is an opportunity to strengthen our foundation and for me to give up expectations that temper my experiences with these amazing boys. This will be hard, stressful, frustrating, and at times, scary. But it’s always this and - it will also be beautiful, revealing, strengthening, and reassuring.

Tonight wasn’t supposed to be my bedtime night but I swapped because the boys wanted more Mama time - and I found myself not caring one bit. We had such a wonderful day together and it only seemed fitting for it to end with me snuggling them close.

| April 9, 2020 | I cancelled school today. I woke up tired, peopled out - to be totally honest, familied out - frustrated with being needed, sick of being patient, and done with being the entertainer.hander out of knowledge. I called a meeting and Mal said, “Is this about us not sleeping well? Are we in trouble? Why are we having a meeting?” I decided this was a good day to teach them about mental health and the importance of taking a day. I told them that Mama was cancelling school and that I was tired and sad, and that I would appreciate help and extra snuggles today. Mal said, in his wise beyond his years way, “ I feel that way sometimes too, Mama, and I’m here to help.” And he did. He gave me hugs throughout the day, Ephy asked how I was feeling, and Caspi was Caspi, a bundle of needy joy. Sometimes the best thing to do is let those we love know that we’re having a hard day. These men of mine spent the whole day filling my cup and it was a beautiful lesson for the both of us.

| April 23, 2020 | I’m so filled with joy that they have each other. I can’t be everything for each of them, and that’s how it’s supposed to be. But what’s beautiful to see is the way they turn to each other in moments of sadness, fury, joy and delight. Mal unbuckled Ephy from his car seat this afternoon and as soon as he was free, Ephy engulfed Mal in a thank you hug and said, “I love you, brother.” Whenever Caspi cries, Ephy starts singing his ABC’s in a high pitched falsetto, because Caspi likes it better that way. Mal knows exactly what to say and do when Ephy is losing it, sometimes even more than I do. Quarantine life has led to stronger threads between these boys than I could have ever imagined.

As a photographer, I’ve been observing the trends that have been happening in the photography world. As much as I loved the documentary nature of Front Porch Photos - I craved more. I wanted to provide for my clients something similar to what I’ve been doing - something that allowed them to create a narrative of this time for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

This is where the idea was born - Your Family Chronicle. A limited edition session that combines your words through letters written from your heart, your children’s words, stages, and drawings, and storytelling images of your family in a beautiful heirloom album. This session is near and dear to my heart, I can’t wait to help you tell your family’s story during this crazy time. Your Family Chronicle sessions are $750 and there will only be 4 available to book in the month of June. Contact me at anj@lavandlime.com or at 816.332.3440 for more information.

I’ve started a little bit of an album for our own family and will add in our daily images with thoughts as I continue - below is an example of what some of your album spreads could look like!

L&L A Year in the Life | Documenting Your Baby's First Year

Day one to day three hundred and sixty five. Dimpled cheeks and thighs, little fingers learning how to grasp, chubby little bodies rolling over, crawling, standing, then walking, mouths learning to form sounds and words, first smiles, infectious giggles, the unforgettable smell of a freshly washed baby. The first year of life with a baby is so full of the sweetest details. Some of these memories to me are instantly accessible - as if my mind knows that certain things are too cherished to be replaced. Some of them blend together between my boys like I’m looking through a soap bubble, their faces blurry but the moment clear. I find myself saying things like, “wait, was that Ephy or Malachi that did that?” Looking back, I’m aware that I was often operating through a haze of sleep deprivation, day to day survival, and a slightly misplaced desire to simply get to the next phase - but that’s life and that’s okay. This, friends, brings me to my next point.

I documented my boys’ lives from the minute they were born - they could almost refer to my camera as a sibling of theirs. I remember the midwife walking in a few minutes after I had given birth to Ephy and telling me that standing on the bed wasn’t advised that soon, and she’d be happy to take a picture for me if I’d like. Since I’ve started L&L, I’ve had clients ask if I can capture their family the way I capture my own, and I’ve struggled with how to make that happen. The pictures I take of my boys are built on layers - the relationship I have with them, the knowledge of the space and light within my home and the rooms they fill, the familiarity of their personalities and knowing how they’ll react to situations so that I’m ready for the moment. I’m around them all the time, so finding the beauty in their days is both incredibly easy and sometimes the task I give myself to help a hard day have a new perspective. I love that I have a mix of studio portraits highlighting their individual personalities as well as portraits that take me back to our first home in Kansas City where Malachi and Ephy were born and brought home. How can I bring a little bit of that into your lives as your photographer?

A Year In The Life

Day One to Day Three Hundred and Sixty Five

This is the newest session option for your baby’s first year. Four sessions booked based on the development of your child (either in studio or an L&L Lifestyle session in your home) and what you as parents want to have captured. A program complete with Wall Collection options, discounts on L&L Wall Art and Table Art, custom designed album options spanning all four sessions, and a chance to have your little one’s life documented thoroughly and with love. The prerequisite to this program is that you and I get to know each other, become best friends and take the time to communicate together to make these portraits a doorway to another time. A time that may seem challenging while you’re in it (because it absolutely is and that may be the understatement of the year), but simultaneously is filled with delight and awe.

I posted this series on Instagram (@lavandlime) of Delaney Mae, my dear friend Allie’s little one. The series is simple and showcases Laney’s growth so well. I adore the color harmony, the fact that we did both a session in her home and the studio, and how wonderfully I can envision these portraits as a part of Allie’s home. Delaney has her one year session still left to do and I can’t wait to find a way to creatively depict her personality and complete the series. The beauty of the Year in the Life sessions is that they tell YOUR story, so take time to explore what your vision for your baby’s sessions would be - color schemes, moments that are important to you, items that are near and dear to you and hold emotion, and anything else that will help to preserve the wonder of day one to day three hundred and sixty five. Email anj@lavandlime.com or call at 816.332.3440 to book your Year in the Life session or learn more about the program, you won’t regret it! Lastly - mention this blog in your inquiry to receive a 10% discount on your session fee:-).

Lav & Lime Lifestyle - The Pistorius Family

I had the pleasure of photographing a Lav & Lime Lifestyle session with the Pistorius family, and it was simply delightful! Brandi won a L&L Day In the Life session through a Facebook giveaway (they happen from time to time so make sure to follow Lav & Lime’s FB page) and the session happened on a rainy Friday morning last week.

Lav & Lime has always been a full service photography studio with most clients choosing a Studio or Outdoor session option, however I recently began offering the L&L Day in the Life session that happens in your home, in your space, on your turf. Knowing how wonderfully crazy and full of love our house is with three little boys, I was excited to enter into Brandi’s home and get to know her family better. Little did I know I would be treated to an impromptu dance recital, so many giggles accompanying some pretty cute jokes, and some wonderful crayon renditions of me from two of the sweetest little girls. It was such an honor to spend time with and view the Pistorius family from a different perspective - through a different lens, if you will;-).

Enjoy scrolling through a gallery of images from our morning together - and click here if you’re interested in booking a session with or learning more about Lav & Lime Studio!

Reminder - the next L&L Mini Session —> Kids & Creatures! is happening on Saturday, July 13th from 9-12! Time slots are still available, but filling up fast. E-mail anj@lavandlime.com or call at 816.332.3440 to reserve your session!

L&L Lesson 2 | Taking Lifestyle Images of Your Littles

Good morning, friends! I hope you’re having a beautiful morning and have a relaxing weekend ahead! I’m here to send you into your weekend with some tips on how to photograph your children in their daily lives, being the little angels that they always are:-). As much as I love photographing my boys in the studio, I also cherish the daily images I capture of them just being themselves. Hope these tips are helpful!

1.When trying to get a picture of the children actually looking at the camera, DON’T tell them to smile.

It’s second nature to instantly say “Smile, I’m taking a picture! Look at the camera! Look at me!” But in my experience, this either results in a fake smile, or in the case of my middle child, everything but looking at the camera.

Instead, engage them with singing a song, regale them with a tall tale, or elicit giggles by simply being silly. One time when I was photographing the boys I started telling them about a dragon named Galooey who didn’t know how to talk on the telephone, instead, he only knew how to say “Blah, blah, blah.” Sounds ridiculous, right? But Galooey has evolved into a full blown character that I tell stories about whenever we take photographs, and has become a beloved member of our household.

iowa-childrens-lifestyle-photography.jpg

2.Photograph from different angles and perspectives.

Lay on the ground, stand on chairs, squat, lay on your back, get closer, move further away → changing your angle and distance can change the story you’re telling and seeing, convey a different emotion, and highlight different aspects of your child’s/children’s personalities.

3.Look for light sources and directional light.

What does that even mean?

Windows are your best friend. They create beautiful, soft, flattering light to photograph your children in and have a gorgeous fall off of light that allows the background to fade away. Windows can be used to the right or left of the subject to create more of a portrait look, behind for a more dramatic look, or in front of the subject for a flatter lighting look.

Indoor lighting is usually pretty gross. But single sources of light such as lamps (or TV’s) in your home can be wonderful directional light.

601A7264-Dec-28th-2018.jpg

Morning and evening are the best outdoor times to photograph! While I’m sipping my wine and watching the kids play during these gorgeous summer eves, I always have my camera sitting right next to me just in case something astonishingly cute happens.

4.Photograph your littles simply being who they are. Don’t make them associate a camera with having to behave a certain way or stop what they’re doing.

It’s wonderful to be able to orchestrate a scene when there’s something you’d like to capture, but it’s also beautiful to be able to recognize when a moment is amazing just the way it is. A majority of the images I take of my children are events I stumble upon and simply have to photograph because of the way they make my heart skip a beat. I’m not focused on taking pictures when I’m spending quality time with my boys, but I do have my camera always easily accessible.

5.Try and capture everyday moments versus only the events, milestones, or when your children are perfect and happy.

Your babies are multifaceted, unique, individual beings that change so quickly. Pictures of them eating breakfast, playing with bubbles, coloring, taking a bath, watching TV - they’re all beautiful. Check out my personal Instagram - @mrsanjolson for more images from our family life.

6.And lastly, get in the frame, Mamas. There’s nothing my boys enjoy more than seeing pictures with me alongside them, and there’s nothing that fills my heart with more joy. Feel free to comment with any questions and happy Friday! & remember - L&L offers an In Home Lifestyle session option, book your Consultation to learn more!

The Next Lav & Lime Mini Session Is...

I always write my blogs at the end of the day. After the kids are in bed, to the hum of the dishwasher, the sound of the baby monitor droning in the background, a night cap of whiskey to accompany my words, and Marty flipping through Netflix trying to find the a show that we haven’t already watched. Tonight we’re watching the last episode of Russian Doll on Netflix - have any of you watched it? I love it. So far it’s been just dry enough for me to find it comical, maybe a tad vulgar but it fits the storyline, and has a surprisingly sci-fi bend to it that fills me with joy. & there you go, folks, the world’s vaguest positive review. Feel free to leave me a comment with all your favorite shows, I could use some new recommendations!

When I decided I wanted the L&L site to get a fresher face, I also decided I wanted the blog to be reinstated. I want a space to be familiar with my clients. A space to share my world, studio updates, advice that may help you have a more positive experience with being photographed, and anything else on my heart. Thank you for spending time with me.

The purpose of today’s blog? Sharing images from L&L’s Mama Love Mini Sessions. It was such a GOOD day. Guys, there’s nothing sweeter than a Mama with her babes. Seriously. The joy, the closeness, the giggles, the embraces, the at-ease comfortability of just being together. How beautiful are these Mamas and their babes?

ANNOUNCEMENT —> Lav & Lime will be doing mini sessions once a month starting in July!! The July mini session will be….drum roll, everyone…L&L Kids and Creatures!

All ages of children and all pets welcome, and sessions will be either outdoor or in studio - depending on the pet and weather. Sessions will be on Saturday, July 13th from 9 am to 12 pm. E-mail anj@lavandlime.com to reserve your session time or call 816.332.3440!

L&L Lesson 1 | Styling Tips for your Family Portraits

In my opinion, the hardest part of having your family photographed isn’t choosing the photographer, booking the session, or even actually being photographed.

The hardest thing for me is attempting to coordinate outfits in a way that actually shows our personalities and photographs well. I mean, this is forever and it’s going on our walls for us to enjoy for years to come — these outfits better be good. Between one child hating jeans (just like his father), the other child hating sweaters, nothing can be too tight, nothing too bright, trying to find outfits for three different ages, shopping for clothing that I’ll actually wear again but also makes me feel amazing about myself (because let’s be honest, I’m the most important part of the photograph), and trying to match something Marty already has (because he doesn’t want any extra money to be spent on his clothing)…I’m a wreck before we’ve even had the session. It’s enough to make me want to cancel the session entirely and try again next year. Thankfully, family pictures are worth the stress, but man oh man, styling your family is quite the task. Worst case, just let your children wear their Halloween costumes!

family-childrens-fine-art-photography-Des-Moines-Iowa-©Lav&LimeStudio.jpg

Over the years I’ve learned some tips and tricks that have helped me both be able to help L&L clients and ensure that our personal portrait experience goes more smoothly. If you’re a Lav & Lime client, you already know that at the Collaboration Appointment we talk about styling details and I do offer the service of finding clothing for your family or child through Pinterest and personal shopping!

All right, let’s get this lesson started!

Tip 1 | First and foremost, choose clothing that you know your children and family will be comfortable and happy in. The last thing you want during your session is to have upset/irritated children or to feel like you can’t move and interact properly with each other. A good photographer will be able to work past that, but your comfortability will show in your images. Are you able to bend, spin, hug, lift your arms up, squat, etc.? Beauty is pain doesn’t have to be true, ladies.

salotti-childrens-fine-art-photography-Des-Moines-Iowa-©Lav&LimeStudio.jpg

Tip 2 | Choose 1 outfit or clothing item that you love the most and let that be the anchor for your styling decisions. For example, if you have a dress in mind that makes you feel beautiful and brings you joy, use that dress as the design inspiration for the other outfits in your family.

©Lav & Lime Studio Des Moines Family Photographer .jpg

Tip 3 | Choose clothing with your home decor and color schemes in mind. Your portraits will hopefully be going on your walls, so how will they interact with the rest of your home? Some people have a more neutral home and use their family portraits as a way to bring pops of color into their home, and other people do the opposite.

601A1223.jpg

Tip 4 | You can let your individual personalities shine and create a more storytelling portrait if you can let go of matching and focus more on a cohesive blend/combination of outfits. Wearing all the same color isn’t a bad styling decision if it was an intentional choice based on your personal style or aesthetic, however there seems to be a misconception that having a family portrait means you have to all wear identical clothing. Choose a color family —> 3 - 5 colors that can coexist harmoniously side by side, and do a mix of patterns and solids within the color family. It makes it easier to find clothing for everybody when you have a larger range of colors to choose from, and allows for a portrait with more depth and vibrancy.

The outfits on the children below may at first glance appear “busy,” but I see patterns and color schemes that are appropriate for the ages and personalities of the children and go beautifully with the background of fall leaves as well as with each other.

Tip 5 | Remember accessories (scarves, necklaces, shoes, earrings), make-up, and hair/nails can completely change the vibe of a seemingly simple outfit! Adding a statement piece of jewelry in a complimentary color or shoes that match another member of the family can be a great way to take your portrait outfits to the next level.

Tip 6 | Don’t overthink things and ask for help from your photographer (which will be me, right?;-) ). Your photographer can help to style your family in a way that feels natural, will align with your decor and home style, and fit the tone of your session!

Thanks for reading, friends, and I hope you have a lovely rest of your week!
